Aura sat in the chair she had been given, sipping at her water as she watched Lethe posing with another model for a magazine cover. He looked so handsome, his smile one of amusement as if he was always thinking of something funny and even that looked sexy. Even though the media made him look like a bad boy, he was actually the sweetest man she had ever known. All he asked was that he was never given eggs since he was allergic. He always invited her to his place to watch movies and just hang out and they had developed a close bond over the three years she had been working for him. She had even found that some women were jealous of her because she worked closely with Lethe. The photo shoot ended and Lethe thanked the female model then turned his gaze on her, his eyes becoming warmer as he made his way to her.
“Sorry that took so long.” He said.
“I’m used to it by now and besides it’s always fun to watch you posing, I can see you wanting to be goofy.”
“Yes, but we both know the photographer might have a heart attack if I do that. So what’s next on our schedule?”
“Nothing else today.”
His smile widened. “Want to get lunch and go to the park?” He looked hopeful.
“Sure, just go get changed.”
Lethe went happily to the dressing room to change. Elated to be having lunch with Aura. She was not only his assistant but his best friend and an absolute struggle not to love. He knew he was kidding himself if he tried to say he didn’t love her but he still struggled against it, not wanting to be hurt again. Aura was kind and in no way like his ex but he had vowed to never open his heart up again to be crushed by someone who wasn’t as serious as he was. With Aura it didn’t matter anyway. She seemed always happy to spend time with him as friends so he didn’t need to open his heart up to a relationship to be by her side.
Lethe dressed, fixed his hair then walked back out to Aura. She was smiling stunningly, her blue eyes sweet and warm as they watched him come. It felt incredibly good to be in her sights. “ready?” he asked and she answered “wasn’t I the one waiting on you?” her tone was playful. His smile widened “anywhere you want to go?”
“Since you did all the work why don’t you decide.”
He scratched his head as he thought and she found him incredibly adorable. “How about the Sugar Shack?”
She gave a soft laugh. “You and sugar.”
“They have muffins too.”
She smiled brightly. “Then the Sugar Shack it is?”
He gave her that sweet, boyish smile that made him look like a teenager. She couldn’t help but melt at it his gentleness. They both thanked the other model and the photographer then left the studio. Lethe sighed when he saw the photographers outside the security gate that kept them and wild fans away from the buildings. Every time he went out, he always managed to get Aura caught in the crossfire. They both climbed into his car since they had come together and he pulled out of the parking lot. The security guard at the gate gave them an apologetic look as he pressed the button that opened the gate. Both Lethe and Aura ignored the bright flash from the cameras, pretending the photographers didn’t exist.
“We’ll probably be followed.” He said and Aura just shrugged.
“So what if we are, they have plenty of pictures of us together, I’m your assistant so it’s only natural.”
“Still, you would think they would have better things to do. They make look like some kind of leather wearing bad boy. It’s probably her fault.”
She reached out and tussled his hair. “Don’t worry so much, everyone who works with you knows how sweet you are and that’s all that matters.”
He smiled, feeling much better. “You’re right of course.”
They made their way to the Sugar Shack with Lethe glancing out the mirror to see if they were being followed. He was sure he saw a yellow car taking every turn they did and felt it was probably one of the photographers. Sometimes he wanted to give them something to talk about, but he just couldn’t work up the nerve. He pulled into the parking lot and he and Aura got out and went inside. As usual he let Aura order what they wanted. She made sure to get him something with no eggs. “To the park, then you can eat what I picked out for you.”
“I don’t get to see what it is?”
“Nope, it’s a surprise as usual.”
He smiled ‘alright then” he knew whatever it was he would like it. Aura never got him anything he didn’t end up enjoying. She just knew him that well. They got back into the car so Lethe could drive them to the park. He still could swear a yellow car was trying to inconspicuously follow them but he knew he could be paranoid. He had every right to be with how much he was hounded. They parked and stepped out of the car. Lethe carried their drinks while Aura had their food hugged against her.
“Come on, what is it?” He asked when he plopped down at one of the picnic tables.
“Hmm, well lets see.” She opened the bag and he waited eagerly for her to produce his food. “An apple fritter and your favorite, a cherry cannoli.” She pulled both out and sat them on the table on top of some napkins.
He grinned and picked up the fritter “Got to save the best for last.” He almost leaned in and kissed her cheek, but remembered they could be being watched so resisted. He took a bite of the fritter and made a sound of delight. “The Sugar Shack always makes the best food.”
She scoffed. “I thought I made the best food.”
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to imply…”
She punched his shoulder. “I was only joking silly, I knew what you meant.”
“Oh good, because I’m pretty useless without you.”
She giggled. “Now that’s not true, you’re incredibly capable.”
“That’s not even close to true. Without you I wouldn’t be able to find my glasses or ask if a food item contains egg or remember my epipen. You’re way smarter than me, I’m just a pretty face for people to swoon over.”
“That’s not true.”
“Yes it is, the only one who sees me for me is you. You don’t lie to me or manipulate me, you treat me like a human being instead of a paycheck.” He sighed and she patted his knee.
“Why don’t we go back to your place and binge watch some Samurai Champloo.”
“Will you stay the night? You still have clothes at my place from the time I was sick.”
“Of course, if it’ll make you happy.”
“You know it will” he answered and her heart fluttered. They ate while listening to the nature and children around them before driving to Lethes home. It was large but not overly lavish like a majority of people with his money would have. Not to say his home wasn’t impressive, it was gorgeous. He just didn’t use his money to impress others. He got what made him happy and a home with thirty plus rooms wasn’t one of those things.
Lethe parked and they went inside, the door opening to his stunning household. They went straight to his living room where Aura sat down and Lethe got Samurai Champloo started. “do you need anymore drink Aura?’ he asked “you know I’d get it myself Lethe but thank you” He sat down, eager to be close to her again.
Aura let her hair down and kicked her shoes off then pulled her feet up underneath her as she always did. Lethe knew after spending so much time with her that this meant she was completely relaxed. He rested his arm behind her on the back of the couch and constantly glanced at her. She was completely focused on the TV so he allowed his eyes to move over her. Today it was a dark grey skirt with a blue blouse the color of her eyes. The heels that matched her shirt were sitting on the floor next to the coffee table. She always looked so beautiful, her face glowing and she didn’t even have to try. He sighed and dragged his eyes back to the TV.
“You okay?” She asked and he swallowed.
“Yeah, I’m perfect.”
She smiled and turned those beautiful bright eyes on him. “I’ll trust that you’re telling the truth.”
“Good, because I’m always fine when you’re here.”
It was her turn to sigh. She knew when he was telling the truth, but she didn’t like pushing him for answers so she let it go. “Would it be okay if I put my head in your lap, I’m tired.”
“Of course.” She stretched her legs out on the couch then pillowed her head on his lap. To her this was the most comfortable place to be in the world. “Do we have anything to do tomorrow?”
“Yeah, you have an ad for body wash you have to do, you’re going to smell all soapy. After that you have an interview with InStyle and then nothing after that. You have the weekend off to rest.”
“Well, do you want to maybe spend the weekend with me?”
She gave a soft, sleepy laugh. “Just like a couple, you better be careful or people might start talking. The women are already super jealous. They might follow us wherever we go and start spreading rumors like the nasty paparazzi. Model Lethe Black Dates Assistant. That’s what the headline would be in every magazine.”
“Who cares, we’re friends and besides everyone should know that I’m not big on dating anyone, I’ve made it very clear.”
“Yes you have.” Her eyes were closed now and she sounded on the verge of sleep. “Oh well.” She fell asleep before he could ask her what she meant and he reached down and brushed some hair behind her ear. He hated these gnawing feelings, the way his heart beat out of control when he was in her presence, or how lonely he felt when she was home instead of with him. He feared his past relationship would only interfere with any future one he had.
Lethe carefully grabbed the remote and turned the volume down so it wouldn’t wake her then sighed and relaxed against the couch, enjoying the closeness. It felt incredible to even have this contact with her. She woke from her nap about an hour later and rubbed her eyes “Sorry” she said in that adorable sleepy voice. “It’s fine, you work hard for me” she laughed “not really, you’re a nice boss and amazing friend”
“want me to go back to the episode we were watching when you fell asleep?”
“No thats fine. I’m thirsty, want a drink while I’m in there?”
“applejuice please” she smiled “be right back” he watched her walk away then turned his gaze back to the Tv until she was sitting down again. They ordered Chinese when dinner time came around so they wouldn’t have to get up off the couch. They just kept watching until they needed to go to bed. Before parting ways to go to sleep for the night Aura hugged Lethe as she always did when they were parting “see you in the morning”
“Good night” he answered, holding her close until she broke the hug. Lethe slept soundly through the night as he always did when Aura stayed over. Just having her in the house made him more comfortable. He felt like such a coward but he couldn’t open himself up to being with her.
Aura jerked awake to the sound of her cell phone going off. She grabbed it, quickly switching off her alarm and climbing out of bed. She yawned as she walked sleepily out of her room and across the hall where she knocked on Lethe’s door. “Wakey wakey.” She said and when she didn’t hear movement she pushed the door open crossed over to the bed. “Lethe, wake up.” She patted his back and he grabbed her wrist and pulled her down, his arms going around her waist so she was stuck sitting on the bed. He mumbled something incoherent and she smiled. “Lethe, come on, we have work to do.” She brushed her fingers through his hair and he groaned then opened his eyes.
“Aura?” He realized he was holding her and pushed away from her. “Sorry, I was having a dream.” He sat up and ran his fingers through his messy hair.
“What was it about?”
He blushed and picked up his glasses. “Nothing in particular.”
“Lethe, you can’t lie to me.”
“It was about this teddy bear I had when I was a kid, I slept with it all the time and carried it everywhere. I finally wore it out and my mom took it from me and put it in a box.”
“That is adorable.”
“Is not, it’s embarrassing.”
She gave him her warmest smile. “We’ll just have to agree to disagree then.” She stretched. “Alright, out of bed.”
“Yes ma’am.” She walked out of his room and as he was getting up she stuck her head back in. “Oh and yes to hanging out this weekend, but you’ll have to take me to get my things after we’re done with work.”
“Now hurry up.”
“Yes mam” He grabbed some clothes and began dressing while Aura did the same. He normally showered in the mornings but there wasn’t any point since he had a body wash add to do. Plus washing then lathering with soap again later would probably dry out his skin completely. When he came down Aura had already started a pot of strawberry oatmeal for them. He smiled and poured juice for each of them. She finished and they quickly ate so they could get going.
“Gum?’ she asked from the passenger seat. “Thanks” she opened a piece and popped it in his mouth. The light touching of her fingers to his lips got them both close to blushing even though she had done it quickly. They talked about Samurai Champloo up until they were getting out of the car again. It was time to be professional and serious. Things Lethe only was when working.
Lethe smiled politely as he stood in the studio with a towel around his waist while the cameraman did one last check of his equipment. The director was going over the script with Lethe, making sure he understood that they may have to do more than one take. She just smiled, knowing he wouldn’t leave until it was perfect. “You ready?” The director asked.
“Alright, water on, towel off.”
Lethe dropped his towel and Aura blushed. He was still in underwear, but they were pushed low on his hips. He smiled at her before picking up the bottle of soap and lathering up. He said his lines perfectly, wearing that same smile the whole time, the one that made him look boyish and playful. The camera stayed just above the waist band of his underwear, giving the illusion of full nudity. They only had to run through it once more after the first time and the director made sure everyone was happy before allowing them to pack up. Aura had not realized she had been staring at Lethe the whole time until he walked over and snapped his fingers in front of her face.
“Yeah, sorry I spaced out.”
“Well that’s too bad, I’m going to go get dried off and dressed.”
“I’ll be here, but hurry we have that interview.”
He snorted. “I hate those things, all the annoying questions.” He disappeared into the bathroom and quickly dried and dressed. By the time he got back out she had managed to get her blush and rapidly beating heart under control. “Alright, I’m ready.”
“Then lets go” she said with a smile. They returned to her car while Lethe went over questions that might be asked and how he would answer them. He wasn’t sure why he said yes to any of these interviews. He looked at Aura out of the corner of his eye, taking her in a few moments before going back into his head so he’d be ready. They parked and Aura said “just think, last thing of the day” he smiled in return “Hope it doesn’t last too long”
They met the woman interviewing him at a cafe. She was gorgeous with long red hair and the deepest green eyes. She wore all black save for the red shirt beneath her jacket and the glasses that rested on her nose. Aura couldn’t help but feel second best to a woman of such beauty. Lethe sat down at the table and she went and ordered their drinks, coming back as soon as she was done talking to the barista. “So, it’s very nice to meet you Lethe. I’m Harley Trine.” She held out her hand, showing perfectly manicured nails.
“It’s nice to meet you too.” Lethe shook her hand and smiled at her.
“And this must be your lovely assistant Aura.”
“Yes ma’am, that’s me.” They shook hands, both of them smiling. The barista called Aura’s name and she jumped up and retrieved their coffees. She handed Lethe’s his then took the seat next to him.
“Okay, question time. I guess we should get the really annoying one out of the way first. Are you dating anyone?”
“No ma’am, I’m not. As everyone knows, my last relationship ended on a bad note. It put a bitter taste in my mouth as far as dating goes so I tend to avoid it.”
“Okay, second annoying question. People have noticed that you and Aura here spend a lot of time together, are you in any kind of relationship with her?”
“Aura is my assistant and friend, she helped pick me back up after my last relationship. We hang out together, but that’s as far as it goes.”
Aura couldn’t help but feel her heart wrench in pain at his answer. She didn’t know what she had expected, she knew what his feelings were very well. She took a sip of her coffee for the sake of keeping herself busy. “Alright and how is your career going?”
“Good actually, really good. I just filmed a commercial. Aura makes sure I make it to all of my appointments so my career is on the rise.”
“You seem to rely on her a lot.”
“Well in all honesty I would be lost without her. Half the time I can’t even remember my glasses or my cell or that I have an allergy for that matter.”
That made Aura’s heart flutter and her cheeks redden. When he said such sweet things it just made her love him more and caused the ache in her heart to get worse. She wanted desperately to tell him that she loved him most of all, that he had become her everything, but she couldn’t. He was still bitter about what had happened, still angry over being used and betrayed. She didn’t want him to close her out of his life and she knew that’s what would happen if she came out and said I love you.
Aura did her best to ignore the interviewers flirting and to keep down her longing for Lethe. She couldn’t wrap her mind around anyone not loving him. His ex was a special kind of stupid to only see such a handsome and amazingly sweet man as nothing but a means to have anything. Now she would never have a chance due to the damage that bitch had done. In the end it was alright though, friendship was enough, wasn’t it? The interview concluded and the woman packed up “thank you so much sir”
“It was no problem” he turned his gaze to Aura “how about another coffee before we head out?”
“ok” she got up and ordered what she had gotten them before then walked out with Lethe. “That one wasn’t as bad. Still sucked”
“I could quit setting them up” he shrugged “I guess I don’t really need them”
“Yeah, you’re popular enough on your own.”
He shrugged. “When you think about it, all I do is brag about you really.”
“Even though you don’t have too.”
He draped his arm over her shoulders. “I wouldn’t be anywhere without you Aura and that’s the truth.”
“Whatever, it’s not like we’ve known each other all our lives or anything.” He frowned and she looked embarrassed. She had not meant to sound so irritated.
He stopped and so did she. “Are you mad at me?”
“No Lethe, I’m not, I was just stating a fact.”
“You were there for me through the most terrible moment in my life, so you mean a lot to me, you’re special. Everything I say, I mean.”
She swallowed and gave him her best smile. “I know that, I guess it’s just been a long week and I’m tired.”
“Do you want to go back to my place?”
“Maybe we shouldn’t spend the weekend together, that reporter was far too curious about us. I wouldn’t want to give the wrong impression when I’m supposed to be you assistant and I keep sleeping over at your place like I’m your girlfriend.”
“Aura, why are you acting like this?”
She had to ask herself the same question, why was she acting so mean, so combative, she thought about it, letting his question run through her head over and over again. The answer hit her like a slap in the face, it was because she was hurting. “Because…because I’m just so…” she sighed, “Lethe, I’m just exhausted and it’s making me irritable. I’m sorry for snapping and saying such stupid things. Lets go to your place and order something to eat, Chinese sounds good.”
He studied her face for a few minutes, knowing she was lying, but not wanting to push the matter any further and start an argument. “Okay, lets go then.”
“Do you forgive me for being the biggest jerk in the world?”
“Yeah, I forgive you.”
When they got in the car Lethe said “we do still need to get some things from your place first. You need more clothes for the weekend.”
“I guess i forgot in my terrible mood” he gave her an almost sad smile “It’s okay, you’d tell me if I did somthing wrong though right?” she nodded and looked out the window, hoping for it to just be left alone. They didn’t speak as they pulled up to her home. She ran in and came back out quickly with her bag. She knew Lethe cared about her, it was even evident now with how much it hurt him she was angry but just being friends was becoming too much. It was getting to the point she had to tell him because either way she couldn’t keep this up.
She threw her bag in the back of the car and they drove to Lethes house. She took her bag upstairs then found a chinese take out menu to glance over before ordering for the two of them. When she hung up Lethe asked “what would you like to do?”
“want to continue our show?”
“yeah” she was still upset and it was killing Lethe. Her happiness meant everything and he could feel from her tension that it was somthing he had done. She only needed to tell him so he could fix it but he was giving her time. Last thing he wanted was to piss her off and have her leave.
There was a knock on his front door about thirty minutes later and he got up and quickly answered, paying for their food and surprising the delivery guy with a big tip. As he was closing the door, he spotted a yellow car across the street and groaned. He quickly shut and locked the front door then went and sat down with Aura. “Everything okay?” She asked.
“No, I’m definitely being followed by someone. There’s a car parked across the street that I saw more than once yesterday.”
“Prepare for another story about us banging.”
He sighed. “I wish they’d just leave us alone, it’s none of their business anyway. I guess it’s my fault though, I’m a model.”
“They probably think I was your fall back girl, you know, after what happened. They don’t realize how angry and depressed you were.”
“Or that you were the one who made me get out of bed and cheered me up, assholes. We’re friends.”
“Yeah, just friends.” He watched her as she ate, her eyes on the TV, paying him no mind. He wondered if he had heard a hint of sadness in her tone or if it had been his imagination. Was he seeing her eyes shimmering with tears or was it just the lighting in the room. He couldn’t tell and he was afraid to ask so he just watched TV and ate.
Eventually she looked much too heartbreaking for him not to ask “Aura, what’s wrong? Please be honest with me. You look so sad”
“I can’t Lethe”
“so there is somthing you aren’t telling me”
“You dont have the right to know everything” she snapped, hating herself for doing it. “Aura please, how you feel means a great deal to me. You helped me through”
“I know Lethe and now I have to pay for it aswell”
“What do you mean?” she knew she had to tell him. She had reached the limit of how much of only friendship she could endure. It hurt far too much “because I stupidly fell in love with you. I want to be with you and I know that can never happen because of her. I love you so much, so much it hurts Lethe but I know I’m fired. I’ll find you a replacement.” she started to actually cry and turned away to walk out.
He jumped up and grabbed her wrist, bringing her to a halt just as she grabbed the door handle. “Wait, please.”
“I can’t work with you anymore Lethe, I can’t see your smile and laugh with you and come here and pretend that I’m just your friend. It hurts when you talk about how you’ll never love anybody again or how we’re just friends and that’s it.”
“Why didn’t you say something?” He tugged her so she was facing him, his heart aching for her.
“Because it would have come between us, from then on our friendship would have been awkward.”
He felt so stupid and insensitive and laid the blame solely on himself. He had built a wall around himself after being hurt and it hadn’t been fair to Aura. He pulled her into him, his arms wrapping around her and holding her close. She cried into his shirt and he lovingly stroked her hair, wanting to see her smile again. “I love you too Aura.”
“It’s not a lie.” He grabbed her chin and tipped her head back so he could look into her tear filled eyes. “I really love you, so much.” He brought their lips together, making her gasp and her eyes widen. More tears slipped from her eyes and she clung to him. When he parted their lips they were both breathless, their cheeks flushed and their hearts beating overly fast in their chests.
“What about those idiots and their cameras?” She asked.
“If there is anyone I wouldn’t mind being caught with, it’s you. They can have as many pictures of us as they want.” He kissed her again and slipped his hands under her shirt to feel her skin. He kept his hands at her waist, letting his thumbs brush lightly back and forth. “I’m sorry I hurt you and made you cry, forgive me?”
“Of course I do, I love you stupid.”
He smiled. “I love you too, all of you and I’m going to tell every reporter there is. You can call that woman we talked to today and tell her I need to revise my previous statement.”
“No, tomorrow, tonight I just want you to myself.”
Aura smiled “want to cuddle?”
“course I do” he lifted Aura into his arms so he could cradle her then sat back down on the couch. Lethe rested his head on hers and held her snug in his arms. “I really am sorry for being such an oblivious idiot” he whispered into her hair causing a blush to creep up Aura neck again “and I said it was fine. I’m just happy telling you I love you didn’t end things between us”
“I’ve had feelings for you a long time but I was so scared after everything”
“I’ll never hurt you Lethe”
“I know, you are perfect” she snorted a little with her laughter “No I’m not”
“to me you are” They were talking so much they switched off the tv since it was mostly just annoying while they were wanting to hear eachothers voice. They stayed close together until they couldn’t stop yawning “I guess we should head to bed” Aura said then kissed Lethes cheek.
“My bed because I’ll just get in yours anyway.” She sighed, a happy smile on her face.
“Fine, your bed then.” He stood, carrying her into his room with that child like jubilance he always showed when he received something he thought was amazing. He tossed her on his bed, making her giggle until he grabbed her shirt and quickly pulled it off. “What are you doing?”
“It’s more comfortable this way.”
“Are you pouting?”
“Maybe a little, I promise not to do anything weird.”
She sighed, unable to say no to the honesty in his beautiful green eyes. “Oh fine.” He smiled brightly and pulled her pants off before tugging his own clothes off and sliding in next to her. He pulled her in close so her back was pressed tightly against his chest then pressed a kiss onto her shoulder.
“You smell good.”
“It’s the truth.” He ran his nose along the back of her neck, giving her goosebumps. “You know if you think about it, it’s like we’ve been dating for awhile now. You know everything about me and I know everything about you. Best friends really do make the best couples.”
Aura just smiled and relaxed into him, letting the warmth of his body envelope her and take her away. Her eyelids fell closed and she felt his arm tighten around her waist. She couldn’t help but think of him holding tightly to the teddy bear he had loved so much and that amusing thought followed her into sleep. The next morning she woke later than usual, still snuggled up against Lethe. She managed to turned over and kissed him on the nose. He groaned and slowly opened his eyes, smiling the minute he saw her. “Good morning.” She said, her voice warming him.
“I’m really glad I wasn’t dreaming, it would have sucked if I had woke with you in the other room.” He took her face in his hands and pressed his lips against hers. “Good morning my beautiful assistant.”
“So I’m still your assistant?” She teased.
“I don’t want anyone else, you’re the only one for me. You don’t have to be my assistant, but you could still do all the things you always do. We’re going to have to move you in here though, to make it easier and then of course we’ll have to get engaged, but before that I guess we should call that lady and tell her we’re together now.”
“Whoa, whoa, wait a minute. Did you just ask me to marry you?”
“No, I haven’t got the ring yet. I have to get that first.”
“Isn’t that supposed to be a surprise?”
“It will be, you don’t know when I plan on getting it, just be prepared to say yes when I do okay?”
She floated somewhere between bliss and tears and she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him. “You’ll just have to find out what my answer is once you get the ring.”
He grinned. “I’m willing to bet it’ll be yes.”
She smiled brightly “You are far too adorable”
“I’m glad, I’m sure it helped me snare you”
“Because you were trying?” she said in a teasing, disbelieving manner. Lethe kissed her forehead “I honestly have loved you too a long time. I was just oblivious and scared” Aura gently caressed his cheek “thank goodness one of us caved. Let me get my cellphone and I’ll call that woman.”
“Want to go somwhere nice for breakfast after?”
“Anywhere you want” Lethe gave her another kiss “I’m hopping in the shower. If you feel like joining me you’re welcome. If not you can take one after me” Aura smiled again, not giving an answer before getting up and grabbing her phone. The interviewer answered surprisingly fast. “Hello?”
“Hey, Lethe Black would like to revise one of his statements from yesterday if it isn’t too late”
“Oh, sure, what’s different?”
“Him and I are together now”
“Just yesterday you weren’t and now you are? I’ll have to hear this from him.”
Aura snorted, but went into the bathroom anyway. “Lethe, Ms. Trine has summoned you to the phone.”
Lethe pushed the glass door to the shower open and Aura nearly dropped the phone. He took it out of her hand and held it up to his ear. “We’re together, I’m in the shower, have fun writing about that.” He hung up on her then sat the phone on the counter. Aura was staring at him opened mouthed so he grabbed her and pulled her into the shower.
“Lethe, I’m still in my undies.”
“Then I guess you’ll have to take them off.”
He shrugged. “If you won’t then I will, butt head or not.” He stepped closer, his hands moving up her back to unhook her bra. He tugged it off and she covered her breasts, blushing a deep red. His grin widened as he hooked his fingers in her panties and pulled them down, allowing his lips to skim over her tummy.
“Lethe.” She whispered, her whole body tingling. He pushed her against the shower wall, his hands grabbing her wrists and gently pulling her hands aside.
“Wow.” He pinned her hands above her head with one hand and allowed his other to run lightly over her. He touched her with such reverence, so gentle and loving that it nearly brought her to her knees. His lips found hers, moved teasingly slow, making her moan. “You’re so sweet, maybe I’ll never go back to the Sugar Shack.” He ran his nose up her jaw and blew warm air into her ear so she shivered. “Could I make love to you?” He brushed his knuckles over her cheek and grabbed her chin between his thumb and forefinger.
“Yes.” She said softly. She had never known anyone to look both lustful and innocent at the same time and it made her cave.
His teeth trailed down her neck eliciting another moan and goosebumps. He bit down when he was just above her shoulder then kissed the same spot. He unpinned her hand and allowed his to grope, slide and caress the entirety of her incredible form. Soon he was rubbing her while his teeth and tongue played with her hard nipples. They had begun to stick out for him long before his mouth even arrived at her supple breasts. His length was in a rock hard erection when he bent Aura over. Her hands pressed against the cool of the shower wall while he gripped her hips and thrust. His grasp was painfully hard but it was arousingly so since he somhow made it sweet at the same time
He seemed to be going wild for her. She hadn’t had a lot of sex before him but this was different. This really meant somthing and she almost wanted to cry. Just before his milk poured into her depths Lethe pulled himself out and let the contents of his johnson spill into the drain. Aura stood up in a near wobble so Lethe pulled her close and stroked her back “Thank you” he whispered.
“There’s no reason to thank me, I love you, I want to give you everything.” His arms tightened around her and he rested his forehead on her shoulder, feeling a knot forming in his throat. “You okay?” She asked softly.
“Yeah, can we just stay like this for a few minutes?”
She just stood there, letting him hold her. She turned in his arms and wrapped hers around his neck, her fingers moving through his wet hair. “I really love you.” His voice was so soft and the only reason she heard his whispered words was because his lips were next to her ear.
“I love you too, are you sure you’re okay?”
“It’s just a little overwhelming I guess, being truly loved by someone.” He pulled back to look at her and wiped at his face. She smiled and gave him a kiss.
“Nothing will change that, I promise.”
“I know, my heart knows too. I just needed time to let the pain fade away and to stop letting my negative emotions cloud my vision. If I had paid attention, I would have noticed sooner how much you loved me and how much I loved you.”
“Hey, all that matters is we’re together now.” He hugged her tightly to him again and gave her a long, love filled kiss before finally letting her go so they could get clean. They got out of the shower, drying and dressing, which Lethe made harder since he couldn’t seem to keep his hands off of Aura. She just laughed, enjoying the freedom being his girlfriend brought. Lethe grabbed his keys and the moment they opened the front door they saw not only the yellow car, but other reporters and a few fans. Lethe frowned and opened his mouth to tell them to go away when Aura grabbed his face in her hands and kissed him. He smiled against her lips as cameras flashed, her love pushing away his worry of putting her in the middle of the drama the media often started. He told himself if she wasn’t worried, then he would learn to do the same. When she parted their lips she smiled at him and then shook her head.
She opened her purse, pulling out his extra pair of glasses. “You really do need me don’t you?”
“More than you know Aura.” He slipped the glasses onto his face and took her hand, waving happily at the paparazzi, showing them how proud he was to be with Aura and that from now on he would face them head on with his love by his side.
