Jubal & Delia 3

Chapter One

Delia’s head rested on his shoulder as he drove and he glanced in the review mirror at his cousin Finn who was staring at his iPad. He could sense his nervousness, his fear and worry. Delia’s family had invited them over for a week and Delia had insisted on taking Finn with them since he didn’t get out much. Jubal had had to reassure the boy time and time again that if anything went wrong, he would stop him, but Finn was still terrified. “How’s he doing?” Delia said softly.

Atalie and Abarron

~ Original Idea created by Breanna

Chapter One

My only belief is that danger is always present. I can’t sleep, afraid to close my eyes for fear that in the second I choose to find peace my worst nightmares will come to pass. Every noise or footstep was an instant nightmare and my heart beat in my chest at a level that I thought was surely heard. It was September 13th, 1939. Just last month I was playing with my siblings while my mother cooked us dinner and my Father was hard at work. Everything was right in the world. Now, I lie still as a brick, hidden beneath the staircase with only inches to move. I can barely breath but anything was better than nothing. It was more than what my family was lead to. I weep silently as the memories flash through my mind. I can still hear my mother screaming out my name as I was ripped from her arms.

Neek & Johana

Chapter One

Neek excitedly wrote his best friend back home a letter to let him know he was only an hour away from earth and expected an easy landing. This would be the first time he landed a ship in another planets gravity but he was confident he could do it, he had trained for this after all when he decided to study other planets in the galaxy. He finished his letter then walked it over to a little box and closed it. It was a special box installed on all ships of their species that studied other planets. It was how the information was sent home. Over the course of his study he would send more than letters using that. He’d send samples of the soil, of any fur or scales or truly anything he found interesting and wanted to share.

Gildhardt & Feran 2

Chapter One

Gildhardt and Feran passed buckets of water between them then up to the head of the line. The fire at the stable raged, seeming to grow bigger and bigger despite their efforts and they could hear the horses screaming. The sound chilled Fera to the bone and before he knew it he was dumping a bucket over himself and running. He heard Gildhardt call him, but his feet carried him ever forward. He could save the animals, he knew he could. The flames licked at him, burning hot as he moved as quickly as he could toward the stalls. He reached for the first latch and screamed at how hot it was. The horse inside was bucking and rearing, panicking as it tried to escape. He pulled his shirt off and gripped the latch again, pulling on it as hard as he could, but it wouldn’t budge. He suddenly felt like he had made some sort of horrible mistake. Not only were the horses going to die, but so was he.

Amara and Aurora

~ Originally created by Breanna Vincent ~

Chapter One

She knew she couldn’t avoid it anymore, it was time for the first day of her freshman year at high school. They say everything changes once you’re in high school, even the people. Amara crossed her fingers that this would be a move in the positive. She had already conquered what she felt to be the hardest thing she has ever done in her life, what could be worse? Since she came out to her parents everything had changed. Her mom tries too hard to be there for her but it was better than her rejection. As soon as Amara told her she started researching about support groups and calling around for places Amara could go to meet others like her. Although annoying, she was grateful her mother still loved her and didn’t look at her in shame. Her father wasn’t so cheery about the idea that his precious little angel would never marry and have children. He made less eye contact that usual and always acted a bit nervous. Amara told herself it would just take time for him to adjust. Although she didn’t admit it, it hurt her feelings to see him act that way. She was still the same little girl that she was five minutes before she told them, just more honest. All in all it went well telling her family and close friends but she was still nervous of how she was going to be treated at school. Seeing as how she had gotten the hardest part out of the way she wasn’t going to stay in the closet for school. She felt as if she might as well go all the way and just be open about the way she felt. She was gay and was proud of it even though her pride faltered every now and then when she got weird looks. Amara promised herself that no matter what she would keep her head up on her first day of high school, after all, this was a huge deal.

Fen & Saffron

Chapter One

Saffron ran as fast as she could, her heart beating fearfully in her chest as she listened to the wolves pursuing her. “Here little bunny, don’t be afraid.” One of them growled out and she let out a whimper. Why did she choose to go on her walk alone today? She always went with her brother, there was safety in pairs, but he had been busy and she had become restless. She looked behind her and that’s when the world fell out from under her and she was tumbling and sliding. When she hit bottom, she just laid there, her entire body hurting. She didn’t know how she had survived, she could see the drop off from where she lay and the wolves at the top pacing back and forth. She slowly sat up, pain radiating through her. She had cuts and scrapes all over her. She had to get out of sight before another predator came for her. She managed to get up and limp away, not daring to stop in case the wolves had decided to come down after her. She started crying when rain clouds moved over her and it only got worse when drops of rain fell on her. She was soaked by the time she found a cave and she sat down, pulling her knees up to her chest and shivering. She couldn’t believe this was happening.

She then spoke calmly”do not yell at me. I am a goddess and while I am a goddess of growth I can still smite you. I have come to help you remember who you were Gizela.
