Sylvie & Jarius 2

Chapter One

Sylvie laughed with her cousins as they continued to play their game. She was out to celebrate one of them getting married soon while Jarius was out with one of his Uncles. The old dragon had come wanting Jarius to help him with some artifacts he had found. Doing something like that was hard to do with a four year old, especially a little girl as wild as theirs so one of Sylvies brothers had offered to take care of little Xeja. Jarius had almost taken a break from working with his Uncle so Lefan wouldn’t have to watch her but at the last second changed his mind. He felt it would be better to try to finish so it wouldn’t take time from his family any more since his wife was out anyway. Lefan had watched her a few times before so they could have some time alone so they trusted him today. read more

Keltie & Kepu 2

“Kepu, where are we going?” Keltie asked as she relaxed into her husband.

“It’s a surprise.”

“A surprise?”

“Yes, so please just relax and enjoy the walk.”

She laughed. “I’m hardly walking. It’s almost like I don’t have feet at all.” She teased.

Kepu blushed. “You know I love carrying you. I can’t help it, having you against me makes me happy.” read more

Actaeon & Semele

Chapter One

The journey to the crypt had been a long one. Desert sand clung to her eyelashes and dusted her clothing, making them look like ruddy copper rather than the bright red and gold they had been. She reached out a hand, her fingers splaying over the smooth stone of the entrance, her eyes closing as pale blue light traveled from her to the locked door. “Bats’yek.” Open. She said and heard the sound of creaking gears and straining ropes. There was a thunk and then the doors slid open, grinding against the floor before sticking. Darkness greeted her and she slipped through and whispered a command so an orb appeared before her then floated slowly down the shadowed hallway. Dust had long settled here on the coffins set in alcoves along the walls and the subtle scent of long dried up oils permeated the air. This crypt housed many a long dead warrior, buried with their most prized possessions, but the thing she sought was in the room at the end, the thing they supposedly guarded even in death, the one she needed. read more

Lachlan, Teague, & Kennedy 2

Chapter One

“Are you sure?” Teague asked as he read the letter Lachlan had received. The message was short, simple: I know who you are, please come see me. “I mean it could be a trick and what if they don’t mean what you think they mean?”

“I’ve thought about that, but what if we have a chance to learn how we happened, to get a better grasp of what we are.” read more

Marius & Aeron 4

Chapter One

Marius jerked against the restraints around his wrists and ankles, but no matter how hard he pulled he couldn’t get free. He was gagged so was unable to speak, could only stare angrily at the man across from him. “I told you I would be back boy.” His uncle grinned at him. “I told you that you and that little mate would pay.” Marius growled, his eyes going completely black. “Frustrated that you were caught or that you can’t read me?” His uncle chuckled as he got up, wincing in pain as he moved closer and leaned down. “I’ll let you see just this once.” Images flashed in Marius’s head as his uncle opened his mind. A syringe, drugs injected into his veins, fantasies of Aeron bleeding and broken of him tormented at murdering his beloved. Marius growled again and his uncle reached into his pocket and pulled out a syringe. “I’ve refined it you know, it’s more potent in liquid form it seems. Not like that powder your mate inhaled.” He grabbed Marius’s arm and stuck the needle in even as he fought. “I wonder what you’ll do to him little Marius.” He pushed down on the plunger. “I can’t wait to find out.” read more

Haidee & Autry

Chapter One

Haidee actually yelped when she fell back down this time “shit!” she cursed when she hit the ground, angrily picking up a rock and throwing it against the wall of dirt opposite her. She threw a few rocks, needing to release frustration about more than simply being stuck here. Her heart still ached at the loss of her fiance. She couldn’t move on, even four years later she wasn’t even close to moving on. Everyone told her he’d want her to be happy but she didn’t know how to be happy without Autry. The only way she could keep herself out of depression was thrill seeking and that might have now lead her to starving to death. Nothing lived down here and she wouldn’t for much longer having already been down here two days without anything to drink or eat and whatever bit her a few hours ago was obviously going to cause something. The place where it had sank its tiny teeth into was only looking worse with time. read more

Chapter One

“Can I say this kind of hurts my brain?” Lewis said as he walked next to Uther. “I mean really hurts.”

Luthais & Saskia

Chapter One

The first time she had seen him, she was only six years old. He had been sitting in a tree and had jumped down when she wandered away from her parents. He had ushered her back, a bit irritated, but hadn’t laid a hand on her. She hadn’t gone far, but he seemed to want to keep her away from the woods. She remembered telling her parents about the man, but they had found nothing and for awhile she had thought it was nothing more than a small child’s imagination. She was seventeen now and hadn’t seen him since, but she often felt another presence close by. She sighed as she walked, getting so lost in thought she didn’t even notice the wild dogs gathered around the deer carcass at first. It had not been there when she had gone to visit her grandparents. The dirty, scarred hounds noticed her presence and turned hungry eyes on her, growling as blood and saliva dripped from their jaws. She swallowed, taking a step back and then another as they started towards her. What was she supposed to do? One lunged and she screamed, turning and running. She could hear them behind her, barking and snarling as they chased her. read more
